  Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 An allopathic physician is a medical doctor who treats disorders and injuries by using methods aimed at counteracting the problems. For example, an allopathic physician will prescribe antibiotics to treat a bacterial infection. The term allopathic comes from the Greek and means “other than disease.” It is a traditional method used by every allopathic physician and is a practice that is most prevalent in the Western world. In general, allopathic medicine refers to modern scientific medicine or bio medicine.

There are 126 allopathic medical schools in the United States, including three in Virginia (Medical College of Virginia, University of Virginia School of Medicine, and Eastern Virginia Medical School).  Most MD programs require 4 years of study, including emphasis on basic science, clinical work, and social science.The first two years of most programs are generally aimed at classroom learning of basic science as it relates to medicine.  Subsequent years of most programs then focus on clinical training.

 I would not like to become an allopathic physician because it requires a lot of knowledge towards doctoring and medicine. I would also not like to become one because it also requires lots of practice.
