Acupressure
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acupressure is a traditional Chinese medicine bodywork
technique based on the same ideas as acupuncture. It involves placing physical
pressure, by hand, elbow, or with the aid of various devices, on different
pressure points on the surface of the body witch may be far distant from the
symptom, related by what is called the meridian system to bring about relief
through greater balance and circulation of fluids and metabolic energies in the
body.
Salary: $40,000-$80,000
Educational Requirements: In order to a
acupressure professional you need a minimum of applicants must possess a high school diploma
or GED. You also need a 1 year certificate program with associate degree
programs. Two of the
leading, nationally accredited agencies for training in acupressure include the
American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) and the National
Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Accredited formal education programs prepare students for state licensing
exams.
I would not like to become a
acupressure professional because I do not like to touch other people and get
germs all over my hands. I also wouldn’t like to become one because your hands
will be very tired and soar after a few days of work.
