Ambulance Dispatcher
Duties and Responsibilities:
An Emergency
medical dispatcher is a professional tele communicator, tasked with the gathering
of information related to medical emergencies, the provision of assistance and
instructions by voice, prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Services, and
the dispatching and support of EMS resources responding to an emergency call.
The term Emergency Medical Dispatcher is also a certification level and a
professional designation.
Salary: $26,000 - $43,000
Educational Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma with
0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with
standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies
on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a
variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
I would not like to become an ambulance Dispatcher
because I think it would be very tiring to be sitting down for hours just answering
stressful calls about people in danger. I would also not like to become one
because they hardly get time of work and a little bit of vacations.
