Yoga Therapist
Yoga is a
practice for optimizing the health of the body and quieting the mind. It
includes a variety of activities, including postures, breathing techniques,
meditation, and lifestyle practices. Yoga Therapy is a synthesis of the ageless
wisdom from the East with the most recent knowledge in complementary health
from the West. The respective professional certificate programs prepare
yoga instructors with practices for people with health challenges not
normally met in a group class. These challenges can be physical, mental or
emotional. Yoga therapists prescribe specific regimens of postures, breathing
exercises, and relaxation techniques to suit individual needs. Yoga therapy can
be a means to manage illness or facilitate healing.
