(ENT) Doctor
An ear,
nose and throat specialist (ENT) is a physician trained in the medical and
surgical treatment of the ears, nose throat, and related structures of the head
and neck. They have special expertise in managing diseases of the ears, nose
and nasal passage sinuses, larynx (voice box), oral cavity and upper pharynx
(mouth and throat), as well as structures of the neck and face. ENT is the
oldest medical specialty in the United States.
Salary: $60,000 - $180,000
Education:
ENT physicians must complete about 15 years of education and
training, including a 4-year undergraduate program, 4-year medical program, at
least 5 years of specialty training and a 1- to 2-year residency program (e.g.,
General Surgery). Then, physicians must undergo peer evaluations and pass oral
and written examinations administered by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
I
would not like to become a ENT Doctor because it requires a 15 year education
and training. One of the good perks of being a ENT Doctor is that you earn tons
of money yearly.
